Rumors said that Samsung Galaxy S II will be receiving the latest Android version on March 10, 2012. However, the possibility of getting this update today is low. Many blogs and news portals mis-interpreted information which was published earlier this year.
Samsung has promised that Galaxy S II phone owners will be one of the first receiving Ice Cream Sandwich update, but it never gave the exact date when we can expect that. Samsung officials are also silent. At the end of the year 2011 Samsung Electronics promised this update till the end of March, so there is still time for the promise to come true. Until then we can just wonder what it will bring to the phones.
If you own one of these phones, it looks like you will have to wait a bit more. Android 4.0 should definitively come but until it reaches the 'real' clients it may take a while. In some countries, like USA, mobile service providers offer different versions of Android OS with their phones. First they have to pass the testing process, which also takes time and only then it reaches their clients. However, there are no signs of the start of this process. So it means that Ice Cream Sandwich is still not confirmed yet.
