According to the Android and Me, in the past twelve months, Android has grown more than 250% with more than 300 million Android devices activated around the globe and 850,000 new device activations on a daily basis. The growth is steady and with the high volume of new devices with Android OS supply these numbers are expected to increase even more. The phenomena of Android started several years ago, when Google took over a company named Android. Almost all employees of that company are still actively involved in Android's development.
From the start several updates were released. Beginning with 1.5 version Android started naming these versions alphabetically. First we had Cupcake, then Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich. The next release should be named
